IMLeagues App Redesign

UX/UI
2023
IMLeagues is an app that many universities use for students to schedule on-campus fitness classes and register for intramural sports. I chose to redesign IMLeagues because the current app design is outdated and confusing in its layout.

Opportunity Assessment of Current App

  • Layout caters more to intramural sports teams than fitness class scheduling

  • Current home screen provides limited information

  • Could allow the option of personalization for universities

  • Unclear/Confusing pathways

Soul Cycle
Basecamp

ClassPass

Soul Cycle is for scheduling cycling classes at different soul cycle studios.

  • Home page shows personal achievements and classes already booked

  • Can schedule classes by filtering instructors

  • Ability to manage personal membership
Basecamp is for tracking fitness progress and scheduling classes at Basecamp Fitness centers.

  • Can connect with other Basecamp app users and see their progress

  • Homepage advertises upcoming events

  • Centers “Classes” in bottom option bar
ClassPass is for users to schedule fitness classes at nearby fitness centers. There are multiple different centers and multiple types of classes available.

  • Multiple categories to browse on home screen

  • Once a class is chosen, available dates can scroll horizontally at top of page

Persona and Task Flow

The user in this case is reserving a spot in her favorite rec center cycling class by filtering the classes by instructor.

Paper Prototype and
Testing Score Card

After making my paper prototype for IMLeagues, I tested it against five of my classmates.

Feedback:

  • Make calendar view a separate option, so you can schedule more than one week ahead

  • Have more filter options

  • Network Icon not clear in meaning

Style Guide

My version of the IMLeagues app is made for the University of Cincinnati, so it’s main colors are red and black.

In this redesign, schools would have the opportunity to change the app’s color scheme based on their college’s colors.
